My Highlands Home Art Prize 2018

My Highlands Home Art Prize 2018 is inspired by my own passion for art. Why? Because I’m a massive art lover and I have always been creative myself. As a matter of fact, I paint frequently and I am always inspired by the stunning landscapes and lush surrounds of our beautiful region.

Accordingly, it is with huge excitement that I can announce My Highlands Home Art Prize 2018.

My Highlands Home Art Prize 2018 Entry Conditions

The theme for this acquisitive art prize is interpretive. It can feature whatever My Highlands Home means to the participating artist. This could be anything from valleys, mountains, sheds, cattle, cafes, people, animals or more.

All entrants’ inspiration for the My Highlands Home Art prize must come from within the area of the Southern Highlands. Works can be produced using any medium, excluding photographic print. They may be on canvas, paper or printmaking media. Works are invited in sizes no smaller than 60cm x 60cm, and no larger than 1.22m wide x 1.8m high.

Entries are open until July 25. Complete the application form by 25 July with delivery of works on 8 August, if you wish to enter and exhibit (see link below).

Prizes

The judging of this prestigious prize will be carried out by myself and accomplished Southern Highlands artist, Helen Gauchat. Another key point is that the first prize is acquisitive and the winner will take home $3000. The second place winner will score $1500. The People’s Choice Award prize is $500.

The Finer Details

The exhibition will open at 6:30pm on Friday 10 August and run through to 19 August. You can view all entries daily from 10am to 4pm, with free admission at the BDAS Gallery in Bowral, because viewing beautiful things shouldn’t cost you a fortune.

Additionally, Home and Hearth Property will acquire the prize-winning painting. It will subsequently be displayed at our Bowral office afterwards.  Overall, it’s an opportunity for budding and established artists alike to present their talents and indeed, perhaps take home a prize!
